Darren is a seasoned Singaporean Group CFO with over 25 years of leadership experience across global banking, private client wealth management, fintech, Web3, and private equity–backed enterprises in Asia and the United States.
He is widely recognised for building and institutionalising wealth management platforms serving high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients across Asia. His expertise spans financial strategy, capital allocation, product and segment profitability, balance sheet optimisation, regulatory governance, and enterprise-wide transformation. Darren has partnered closely with boards, regulators, and institutional shareholders to strengthen financial resilience while enabling disciplined, capital-efficient growth across multi-jurisdictional private banking and advisory franchises.
Prior to WRISE, Darren served as Group CFO of OCBC’s Wealth Management and Consumer Division, where he led financial strategy across private client and premier banking, retail banking, and insurance businesses. He oversaw capital deployment, client segment economics, cost-to-income optimisation, and regulatory capital management across a diversified Asian wealth platform. His leadership enhanced operating leverage, improved segment returns, and reinforced the division’s competitive positioning in the regional private client space.
Earlier in his career, Darren held senior leadership roles at HSBC and Clermont Group, further deepening his experience across regional wealth, investment, and asset management platforms.
Beyond traditional banking, Darren also brings public markets and digital asset experience. He served as Group CFO of a Nasdaq-listed technology company, leading U.S. capital markets engagement and strengthening governance standards across cross-border operations. As the Founding CFO of a global Web3 blockchain startup, he architected the financial, treasury, compliance, and tokenomics frameworks from inception, bridging institutional finance discipline with emerging digital asset ecosystems — a convergence increasingly relevant to next-generation private wealth.
Recognised as one of Southeast Asia’s Top 50 Finance Leaders since 2022, Darren remains committed to advancing financial leadership. As Adjunct Faculty at Nanyang Technological University’s FlexiMasters in Financial Technology, he mentors senior professionals on how fintech innovation, AI, and digital assets are reshaping wealth management and capital markets across Asia.
